We're joining forces to tackle high blood pressure in Black African and Caribbean communities

We're really happy to announce our new collaboration to tackle high blood pressure in Black African and Caribbean community in South London.

It's a great team, bringing together the expertise of the Race Equality Foundation, Blood Pressure UK, Smart Health Solutions and us, Younger Lives.

Black African and Caribbean are most at risk but are less likely to get the support they need

The sad reality is that whilst people from the Black African and Caribbean community are more likely to develop high blood pressure, they are less likely to get the support they need to manage their condition.

That's why this project is so important to develop the right tools and support to this specific community and the health care professionals that work with them.

Our role will be to work in partnership to developing a new version of our Heart Age tool and accompanying HCP Patient Discussion guide to support people within Black African and Caribbean community who have high blood pressure and the Health Care Professionals that work with them.

As behaviour change experts we know how important specificity is - and we hope that together we will be able to create a support program that can move the dial and help more people live the longer, healthier and happier life they deserve.

With special thanks to the Burdett Trust who are funding this important work.
